About Me

This blog is driven by what’s going on around me including my love for photography. You’ll see everything from exotic travel photos to ladybugs and lizards from my backyard. I live in Texas so we have good weather most of the year. I start most days outside looking for critters and taking photos with the passion of a fashion photographer.

My greatest personal challenge in my life is I have Bipolar Disorder. I was diagnosed over 28 years ago. I have struggled with treatment resistant depression Bipolar far longer than the high side. I was implanted with a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) in 2005. It’s a pacemaker looking device implanted in my chest that sends “be happy” signals to the brain through the vagus nerve in my neck. Sadly it was not the magic bullet. I  share this very personal side of me for others who struggle daily with mental illness or love someone who does. Everyday is different, luckily for me I’ve been stable for several years.

Your honest (be nice) feedback will help me improve or run me out of Dodge. I look forward to your comments and hope you come back again.

Melinda
